The vision

RIT Capital Partners, the Rothschild investment trust, staged their AGM at Spencer House, a magnificent Grade I listed Jacobean Mansion overlooking Green Park. The AGM marked a leadership change and the goal was to present share updates and conduct live voting in an elegant heritage space without compromising its priceless interiors – the client did not want the space to feel over-produced and for the audience focus to remain on the content being delivered. The brief called for a precise AV setup.

Our approach

We began with a custom stage, designed and built to maximise the floorspace for guests, whilst also accommodating the board comfortably. RIT chose to dress the stage with the house tables and lectern. Table-top microphones were fed into our digital sound console incorporating auto-mix, ensuring all speech was effectively captured and amplified via a five-speaker PA system to both seated audiences.

Presentations were delivered via large format display screens for the audience and dedicated comfort monitors for board members seated at the top table.  A discreet monitor was placed at the Chairman’s position allowing real-time oversight of votes and audience reactions in the overflow space. Three PTZ cameras provided relay and iso recording for a post event edit.

AV control was split between the main and overflow rooms again maximising the floorspace for guests in the main presentation area. In the adjacent overflow room, we installed two screens relaying live camera, along with audio and presentations.

To address the confined set up space, load in and set up was split into two phases, with the staging, display screen and overflow equipment installed first. The main room AV was then installed following the completion of the phase one set up set-up phase.

Client reflections

Having delivered this event for the last 4 years, RIT Capital Partners again commended the seamless integration of technology with respect for the venue’s heritage. The event ran smoothly with flawless audio, clear visuals and unobtrusive camera coverage. Shareholder engagement was high, and the chairman praised the setup for enabling confident real-time decision making without detracting from Spencer House’s grandeur.  The 2 phase approach was commented on by the venue as a marked improvement on previous installs.

Sustainable impact

Protecting both the environment and Spencer House was paramount. From the earliest site survey and detailed risk assessments to our on-site precautions, every step was planned to safeguard the building’s priceless interiors. equip supplied robust correx protection sheets to preserve antique carpets and furnishings in both rooms. An induction loop ensured full accessibility for hard-of-hearing attendees. All equipment and protective materials arrived via our electric vehicle fleet, and reusable protection sheets were collected and stored for future use, minimising waste while ensuring Spencer House remains unblemished for generations to come.
